Discover the Talent Behind Tualatin Valley Physical Therapy
Dr. Benjamin Stokes, DPT
Founder/Physical Therapist
"My goal is to make every patient feel heard, supported, and confident in their recovery." — Dr. Ben Stokes
Dr. Benjamin Stokes is a physical therapist, educator, and the founder of Tualatin Valley Physical Therapy. Born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon, he developed his passion for human movement and helping others early. After graduating with a BS in Kinesiology, he worked as a specialized personal trainer focused on rehabilitative exercise. A life-changing moment came when his father was diagnosed with ALS. Seeing how skilled, compassionate rehab allowed his father to stay engaged in family life sparked Dr. Bens’ calling to pursue physical therapy. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from George Washington University before returning home to serve his community.
Dr. Ben has extensive experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, performance training, and movement science. Before opening TVPT, he worked in high-volume outpatient clinics, where he saw firsthand how insurance restrictions and rushed schedules prevented patients from receiving the customized care they needed. This motivated him to build a clinic where every patient is treated one-on-one with the time, attention, and clinical reasoning they deserve.
He specializes in treating active adults, runners, weightlifters, martial artists, and individuals recovering from auto or workplace injuries. His therapeutic approach blends strength training, mobility work, manual therapy, and evidence-based education to help patients achieve meaningful, sustainable progress. Known for his empathy, clear communication, and individualized plans, Dr. Ben empowers each patient to understand their condition, take ownership of their health, and continue thriving long after discharge.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ben enjoys puzzles, games, hiking, and exploring local festivals. He is dedicated to community outreach, injury-prevention workshops, and supporting local athletics. His long-term vision includes expanding TVPT to multiple locations and increasing access to high-quality, compassionate physical therapy throughout the Tualatin Valley.
